SUSTAINING CULTURAL AND BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING WORLD: LESSONS FOR GLOBAL POLICY

Criteria for Selection

Criteria that will be used to select contributions to all events within the conference are:

1. Relevance. Your contribution should be relevant to the Symposium topic

2. Balance. Every effort will be made to ensure that contributions: reflect a balance in terms of region, culture and gender; are simulating and invite audience participation; and when taken together, address the most pressing issues relating to the Symposium themes

3. Advance understanding. Contributions should add to understanding of issues related to a theme, convey knowledge about an issue, and/or identify new challenges, approaches, or innovations relevant to topic

4. Lessons learned. Contributions that showcase case studies should provide concrete ‘lessons learned’ and/or document ‘best practices’ that have broad applicability.

5. Follow-up. Contributions that have clear links to processes or events that will facilitate follow-up and actions, such as the World Conservation Congress and topics of other working groups.
