SUSTAINING CULTURAL AND BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING WORLD: LESSONS FOR GLOBAL POLICY
Voices From Around The World
Beginning in October 2007, individuals and communities from around the world are invited to record and submit their perceptions about the links between their culture and the natural world. Accepted material will be posted on the Symposium website and linked to a world map. Selected highlights from submitted materials will also be featured during the April symposium.
A list of sample questions serves as a guideline for your responses, which may be submitted in written form, as video or audio recordings, through a series of photographs, or any combination thereof.
Please provide an English-language translation or synopsis of audio and video submissions recorded in languages other than English.
Submissions to Voices from Around the World do not require that the individuals involved attend the April Symposium. All are welcome to attend.
Please submit a Call for Participation Application Form.
Deadline: To be considered for inclusion in the Voices from Around the World selected highlights presentation at the Symposium, please send your submission by Monday, February 11, 2008. Submissions will also be accepted beyond that date, for posting to the Symposium website. All accepted submissions will be available on the website until at least October 2008. After that, an archive of the Symposium’s content will continue to be accessible.
Please Note: The American Museum is unable to provide financial support to poster presenters for travel or accommodation. For a list of hotels, student centers, and hostels in the neighborhood of the Museum, see Travel/NYC Information.
